Kagawa is the smallest prefecture in Japan (land-wise), relatively narrow and located between the mountains of Shikoku and the Seto inland sea. Its capital city Takamatsu is dotted with a variety of sightseeing spots like Ritsurin Garden and Takamatsu Castle. Outside of the capital, you’ll discover sightseeing highlights like Shodo Island (also known as the Island of Olives), and the famously long staircase of the Kotohiragu Shrine.
